Touchless order processing
Order processing where an inbound order flows from receipt to the ERP with no manual data entry — also called straight-through processing.
Sales order automation
Automatically converting inbound customer purchase orders into sales orders in the ERP, without manual re-keying.
Straight-through processing (STP)
A transaction that completes end to end automatically, with no manual intervention. In order management, an order posted to the ERP with zero keystrokes.
EDI 850 (Purchase Order)
The X12 EDI transaction set used to send a purchase order electronically between trading partners.
Intelligent document processing (IDP)
Technology that extracts structured data from unstructured documents using AI — OCR, machine learning, and increasingly large language models.
Order-to-cash (O2C)
The end-to-end business process from receiving a customer order through to collecting payment.
